APPOINTMENT SEASON

Appointment season is upon us. Please make sure you are completing / submitting you paperwork in timely manner. All answers and processes begin and end with Marybeth.

FLS Testing

All R3’s have your testing vouchers and you have 1 year from the time you received it to finish the didactics online module and to schedule your test. If you do not have or are unable to locate you testing voucher, please contact Ian.

ACGME Dates 1819 block 7:

Julie is in the process of sending out a cleaned up version of the cases recorded for each of the four categories: SFGH OB, SFGH GYN, UC OB and MB/MZ GYN received for Block 7.

It is the expectation that you will, within two weeks of the end of each rotation, enter all of your cases from the previous rotation. The case lists that she will be sending out represent a guide for you to reference in case you may have overlooked cases.

During the week of April 15, Julie will be pulling and validating all ACGME entries for Block 7 and sending out the individual case log reports.

If you would like copies of previous reports, please let her know.

RX Pads - We are in the process of trying to order new scripts in order to meet the new DOJ requirements that came out at the first of the year. Those experiencing the greatest impact of this policy are those on rotation in 6G and KWC. Someone, somewhere, recognized that the entire state of CA has to order new pads, so we have been given a bit of a reprieve in the form of a grace period - we will keep you posted on the progress.

Please make sure you have prepared in advance for your elective time. Your request form located in right side-bar) needs to be received at least 3 MONTHS in advance. Additionally:

  • The resident has all administrative records up-to-date (including, but not limited to, case logs, medical records, evaluations and duty hours) at the time this request is approved and one week prior to the beginning of their elective rotation, and
  • The resident is in good academic standing and does not need to use the elective time to make up or repeat clinical rotations.

PLEASE REMEMBER that you will need a prescription triplicate pad for your KWC rotation and to familiarize yourself with the location of and process of signing out pads prior to this rotation. Pads (currently) are located at SFGH in Julie's Office. In Julie's absence, Molly can orient you to the location of a sign-out process.

Please also remember to turn in all of your old / completed Rx pads to Joy or Julie.

Kaiser Hawaii rotation - It is a requirement to change the address on your NPI number prior to the start of your Kaiser Hawaii rotation and upon your return. You will receive a message with the correct address information just before you leave and before you return.

If you are wanting to receive a ZSFG resident reimbursement for AY1819, you should have made a submission by now. The process is open all year, but committed funds do start to run out soon.

Please note that the most important step, the step that often gets overlooked and thereby voids the reimbursement, is the submission of the documentation.

  • Interns and residents will use the Department of Public Health (DPH) reimbursement process to submit reimbursement requests. We will no longer be using the CCSF’s online tuition reimbursement program.
  • Reimbursement increased from $300 to $600 per fiscal year for eligible interns and residents who spend three months on rotation at ZSFG.
  • Items eligible for reimbursement have expanded to include wellness activities and projects and training.
  • The Pre-Approval Request process is eliminated. Reimbursements will be processed once the cost has been incurred and the required documentation is submitted.

Time to start having conversations about banquet roles / vision!!!

ZSFG 5M Clinic schedules and Attending schedules are stored in UCSF Box - (through My Access) in the "OB GYN @ ZSFG Schedules" Folder. Please to remember to check the 5M schedules in advance to make sure appointment templates are not open during your schedule absences. Make sure you report any/all discrepancies to the Clinic Chief, Lolet Encabo and Julie.
